RC Cars for Sale: The Importance of Tuning Up a Nitro Engine

Just like a typical car that you drive on the street, RC cars for sale which have nitro engines require regular tune up.

This is due to the fact that after several hours or days of use, there are a few components in your RC cars for sale nitro engine which will not remain in tip top shape anymore.
As such, if you want the RC cars for sale nitro engine to stay in its peak form and performance, tune up is required.

Aside from that, you would not want the engine of your nitro RC cars for sale to waste fuel - and tuning up will prevent this from happening.

Tips on Tuning Up Your RC Car Nitro Engine

So how exactly can you keep your nitro RC cars for sale engine in tip top shape?  First, nitro engine tuning requires a few tools that you need to have. This includes the following:

  • - Digital thermometer, temperature gun or water dropper
  • - Flat-blade screwdriver
  • - Miniature car stand for your RC car

Here are the detailed steps on how you can tune up your RC car nitro engine:

Ready, start, go!

Just like your typical car, RC cars for sale which have nitro engines need to be started, warmed up and driven around for a few seconds.  Make sure that you will do so using short bursts of speed, up to a full throttle.

After five minutes of running, use the digital thermometer or temperature gun to check the temperature of the engine.  The ideal temperature is anywhere between 200 to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

Make the necessary adjustments for the idle screw.

Again, it is important to make sure that the ideal temperature of the engine is reached before fine-tuning the nitro engine of the RC cars for sale that you bought for yourself.
The next step in tuning the nitro RC cars for sale engine is to park the car on the miniature stand while holding it at full break. Check whether the engine slows down and stalls - or if it immediately shuts off. Depending on the results, you can now fine-tune the nitro RC cars for sale engine. This should be until it reaches the point that the nitro engine’s revolutions per minute are high enough to keep the RC cars for sale engine running for a full minute.

Adjust the high-end and low-end needles.

After adjusting the idle screw, drive the RC cars for sale with a nitro engine and accelerate quickly. Depending on how the engine responds to the speed, you can adjust the high-end needle one eighth of a turn at a time.

Now, for the low-end needle of the RC cars for sale with a nitro engine - the rule of thumb is that if the needle is adjustable, there is a need to adjust it.  Do the same thing here that you did for the high-end needles.  In adjusting the low-end needles of the RC cars for sale with a nitro engine - you should also turn the needles one eighth of a turn at a time.

So how would you know whether you have adjusted the high-end and low-end needles of the RC cars for sale with a nitro engine properly?  Take the RC cars for sale with a nitro engine for a test drive.

You have adjusted the needles properly if the RC car transmissions quickly from idle state, to a full throttle. If it does not, you would need to adjust either the high-end or the low-end needles until the engine responds accordingly.

Keep on fine tuning your nitro engine until it reaches its peak form.

Patience is the number one key if you want to properly fine tune your RC car with a nitro engine.  Just as it is when caring for your regular car, make sure that you will use the same brand of fuel for your RC car.  This way, the engine will respond accordingly to the controller’s commands.

Finally, it always pays to always fine tune the nitro engine of the RC cars for sale that you have. After fine tuning and hearing the rumble of power from the RC cars for sale with a nitro engine, you will be super-pleased with your tuning efforts that you may find it difficult to ever leave the hobby of RC cars!
